Gifted by the nature, as other places in Argolida, Ermioni impresses the visitor with its fertile extents and the beautiful beaches.

One of them is Bitsi. Blue waters and natural beauties compose a charming landscape with interesting archaeological discoveries as ruins of ancient temples while you can admire also the cyclopean stone hedges of the region.

 

Northern you will find relic from the laboratories of treatment of purple shells and a fully restored windmill that invites you to enjoy your walk around!

The entrance of the Katafyki gorge is situated about 6 km northwest of the small country town of Ermioni. You can traverse the gorge of Katafyki and get to the picturesque village of Fourni. Everything is serene and of unmatched beauty. There are caves and spectacular rocks. If you walk along the old small bridge, you will discover many wonderful natural sights. The gorge is lapped by gurgling waters and shrouded in lush vegetation.

Apart from the beauty of the nature of the area it is worth visiting also the town of Ermioni. The house of the Economos family has been transformed into a folklore museum exposing a remarkable collection.

The museum is housed in a wonderful traditional restored building which is also an important historic monument as it is here that the Third Greek National Assembly first met in 1827. The garden of the museum is adorned by the statues of the Mitsas brothers who leaded the Greek Revolution of 1821 in Ermioni.

It is 84 km far from Nafplio and its infrastructure satisfies even the most demanding travellers. The monuments declare the rich fabulous and historical past, while the acres with the horticultural cultivation and the citrus fruits show how fruitful and hospitable the land is there. Less than 10 km away from the picturesque town of Ermioni, one finds Thermissia, which is a well known tourist destination.

Starting from Makis Inn you can visit also the around regions. You can visit Hydra Island by marine taxi or flying dolphin that begins from the harbour of Ermioni in only 20΄.

Passing through Porto Heli, in 15΄ you arrive in Costa where you can take a marine taxi passing in Spetses Island. Respectively, in 30΄ by car you reach Galatas where you can pass in Poros Island.

Do not forget to visit visit the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus with the worldwide unique audibility and you can see the first medical tools that are exposed in the Museum of Epidaurus of side by side Theatre.

Visit also the first capital of Modern Greece, the picturesque city of Nafplio, with narrow streets and the dominating Castle of Palamidi with its infinite stairs.

Finishing this flash back in history, continuing from Nafplio in 10΄ you can visit imposing Mycenaes, the first organised kingdom of continental Greece, and admire the great Gate of Lions.
